Some major contributions from her estate before this foundation was established
| Land for Snehalaya has been donated from her estate by Dr. BK Sharma in her memory. Major con-tributions for establishment of Snehalaya itself and building MSM Hospital came from her estate. Too.It would not be wrong to say that Snehalaya itself and MSM Rural Hospital could not be brought up to the present stage if we did not have her estate provided before the Foundation came into being. |

Activities So Far
| A thirty bedded Dr. Meena Sharma Memorial Primary Care Rural Hospital is functional within the campus of Snehalaya. We decided to dedicate these facilities to the doctor because it was only with support of Dr. Meena Sharma Memorial Foundation that this project was brought to reality. This hospital caters for the healthcare needs for all the residents in Snehalaya, as well for the people from surrounding villages. |
|
| It also contributed a substantive amount for the Main Stream School in Snehalaya Campus, now ready for opening in July 2011. This school will cater for children (esp. girls) from surrounding villages. The girls will be provided with every thing they need, including books, uniforms, food, education and health care, as well as Rs.10 per day for attending the school with vocational training. The aim is to make them independent; the girls otherwise remain illiterate and uneducated and undergoing oppression all their life. Dr. Meena Sharma Memorial Foundation also contributes substantive sum towards maintenance expenses for the disabled and destitute children in Snehalaya including the special need school being run there for last five years. |
